The law school hosted an alumni luncheon at the stunning art deco Silver Grille in the old Higbee building downtown on April 10 with several hundred alums and faculty in attendance. A professor and four alumni selected by the Law Alumni Association received honors at the luncheon.

Trevin Crider is the champion of this year’s ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law Dean Dunmore Moot Court Competition! Twenty-nine students competed in the intramural appellate-advocacy tournament named for Thomas Dunmore, who served as the School of Law’s dean from 1910 to 1945.

Spring 2024 Immigration Law Clinic students have helped a variety of clients with a range of immigration matters including asylum, citizenship and green card applications. 

The Reproductive Rights Law Initiative (RRLI) at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law aims to preserve, protect and expand access to abortion and reproductive health care in Ohio and throughout the Midwest.

For the second year in a row, a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø law student was named a National Jurist Law Student of the Year. The publication announced this week that 3L Emily Worline was selected for the prestigious honor.

The Intellectual Property Venture Clinic (IPVC) has been buzzing with activity this March. Amidst our regular coursework and client work, our IPVC students are making waves here on campus and beyond.

One of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law's most distinguished graduates, François-Philippe Champagne (LAW '94), participated in an informal fireside chat with Dean Michael Scharf in the Law School Moot Courtroom on March 6, 2024.

3Ls Elizabeth Broderick and Harper Fox are spending their final semester of law school working for the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone (RSCSL) as their Capstone project. In the summer of 2023, Fox and 3L Jessica Chapman worked for the RSCSL.  The Chief Prosecutor of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone is James C.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Second Chance Reentry Clinic went to trial in the Juvenile Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Student interns Nathan Bly and Michaella Guyot-Polverini (pictured) defended one of the clinic’s clients who had been accused of violating a court order regarding child visitation. 

On March 15, 2024, Co-Dean Michael Scharf spoke at the Investiture for alum Philip Hadji (LAW ‘09), who was recently unanimously confirmed by the Senate as the newest judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims. 

In 2020, in an ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law began to pursue strategic partnerships with select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The law school’s Black Law Student Association Mock Trial team (composed of 3L Aanya Myrie-Sylburn, 2L Yaninna Sharpley-Travis, 1L Lydia Abraham and 1L Jordyn Dawson) took first place in the 2024 National BLSA Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition, winning every round they competed in.

Law students from the Spangenberg Center for Law, Technology and the Arts attended the South By Southwest Conference (SXSW) this week in Austin, Texas. During the conference, they immersed themselves in sessions and connected with professionals in the areas of technology and the arts.
