On May 15, 2024, ���ϳԹ��� School of Law held its tenth annual Celebration of Faculty. Co-Dean Michael Scharf kicked things off by summarizing some of the things the faculty can be particularly proud of this year. “Our faculty is ranked #36 in scholarly impact by the Sisk study, measured by citations and downloads of their works,” he reported.

Saturday, May 18, was the perfect spring day in Cleveland for ���ϳԹ��� School of Law graduates to celebrate their commencement.

Jonathan Adler joined Erwin Chemerinsky for a discussion about the Supreme Court, past and present, at the University of California at Berkeley School of Law on April 23.

When she first started law school, Heavenly Aguilar encountered the type of imposter syndrome many new students find familiar. But now, as she prepares to graduate with her JD this month, she  has one key piece of advice for incoming law students: 

As the keynote speaker of the annual Canada-U.S. Law Institute (CUSLi) Conference on April 18, co-dean Michael Scharf traced ���ϳԹ��� School of Law’s historic contributions to International Human Rights.

After he receives his diploma this month, Junwoo Shim hopes to embark on a fulfilling journey in the legal field where he can leverage his education to make a tangible and positive impact on the legal landscape. 

Jessica Chapman chose to complete her capstone requirement at the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division Policy Section in Washington, D.C. Extremely active in the international law community at ���ϳԹ���, Chapman moved to the nation’s capital for a semester to try out a different practice area: domestic civil rights.

Talk about “March Madness”!  “When it comes to mock trial and moot court, ���ϳԹ��� School of Law is the equivalent of an elite NCAA basketball program,” said Co-Dean Michael Scharf.  

On April 10, the Center for Business Law hosted a public lecture featuring Mitu Gulati from the University of Virginia School of Law.

On April 5, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy offered her advice on best oral argument practices to first-year law students—just in time to help them prepare for their own simulated oral arguments in LLEAP, ���ϳԹ��� School of Law’s required, year-long legal research, writing and experiential skills course.

The new 2024-25 U.S. News Specialty Rankings include the rankings for 13 specialty programs at 196 law schools. Based on its collective specialty rankings, ���ϳԹ��� School of Law ranked 42nd best in the nation.

Towards the end of her 2L year, Tiffany Johnston received some unexpected but welcome news—she was pregnant.  “I’ve been told since I was 16 that it would be nearly impossible for me to have a child naturally,” Johnston said. “We originally thought it might have been cancer, but she turned out to be a baby!”

On April 21, 2024, students and faculty gathered at a local restaurant to celebrate the publication of volume 34 of Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine and all of the student editors’ hard work.

In the law school’s Legal Writing, Leadership, Experiential Education, Advocacy and Professionalism (“LLEAP”) program, practicing attorneys teach a simulation component in each course. Holly Marie Wilson is one of three such adjunct professors who leads simulations in Melissa Ghrist’s LLEAP 3 – Appellate Practice course.
