Event Description
ϳԹ School of Law is pleased to have been selected as the host of the American Society of International Law’s 2025 Midyear Meeting. One of the largest annual gatherings of international law practitioners, academics, and students, the ASIL Midyear Meeting has been held since 2010 in Miami, Los Angeles, Athens and Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle, St. Louis, New York, Miami, Pittsburgh and Chicago.
Celebrating the theme of “Turning Points and Paradigm Shifts in International Law,” the ASIL’s 2025 Midyear Meeting will take place from September 25-27 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Practitioners’ Forum, featuring a lunch speaker and two panels, will be held at Jones Day Law Firm on the afternoon of Sept. 25. The Research Forum, featuring over thirty panels, will be held at ϳԹ School of Law on Sept. 26-27. There will be a Keynote speech and opening ceremony and reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 at Woodland Hall in the Cleveland Botanical Garden; and a gala party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which will be open only to ASIL Midyear Meeting attendees. The Midyear Meeting will end (Sept. 27) with a closing speech and reception at the Tinkham Veale University Center followed by drinks at the University’s Jolly Scholar Pub.

The proposal period has ended. We received nearly 200 proposals. Thank you to all who submitted. Notifications of acceptance will go out by the end of June. A list of panels/speakers will be posted here shortly thereafter.
Midyear Meeting Registration

Registration includes access to both the Practitioners’ Forum at Jones Day Law Firm (noon-5 p.m. on Thursday) and the Research Forum at ϳԹ School of Law (all day on Friday and Saturday), as well as all breaks, lunches, and the opening reception at the Cleveland Botanical Garden (6 p.m. on Sept. 25), the dinner at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (6:00 PM on Sept. 26), and the Closing reception at the Jolly Scholar pub (7 p.m. on Sept. 27). Registration is free for ϳԹ School of Law and Cleveland State University College of Law students and faculty, but they must register in advance to attend.

David D. Caron Fellowships
Student or early career authors of accepted abstracts may apply for a limited number of David D. Caron Fellowships, designed to provide financial assistance to individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend and present their work. Preference will be given to applicants whose participation would enhance the diversity of perspectives and experience at the Research Forum. More information about these fellowships will be circulated to individuals whose papers are accepted.
