The undergraduate program in the Department of Music at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is designed to help you explore and grow your musical talents! By leveraging the resources of both a major research university and a top-tier conservatory through our Joint Music Program (JMP) with the (CIM), you'll have access to fantastic opportunities for musical development and discovery.
Degree Pathways
You can choose to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Music Education.
- Both programs require submission of the Music Arts Supplement during the application process.
- The BS in Music Education also includes a live interview and audition component.
Combining Music with Other Fields
If you'd like to pari music with another academic interest, you may pursue a double major or dual degree. This flexible approach allows you to integrate music studies with disciplines such as engineering, pre-medicine, business, sciences, or the humanities–broadening your educational experience and career opportunities.

Not planning to major in music? You can still:
- Join ensembles
- Take applied music lessons with CIM faculty (instructional fee applies)
- Add a Minor in Music or take recommended music electives
