Library Assistant 4 - Patron Information and Stacks Management

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø seeks a forward-thinking, inclusive, and collaborative individual for the Library Assistant 4 - Patron Information and Stacks Management position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION. Working under occasional supervision, the Library Assistant 4 (LA4) reports to the LA5 Daytime Supervisor of the Access & Resource Services Team and operates as a library operations specialist within the Knowledge and Creativity Commons. The LA4 works primarily during daytime hours (scheduled Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm), however all members of the ARS Team must be flexible to adjust their work schedule to accommodate changes in operational hours, including evenings and weekends, over university breaks, summers, and holidays, and to fulfill staffing requirements. Along with frontline user support service, the position focuses on stacks management and all modes of sharing and communicating information with KSL’s patrons.

The Kelvin Smith Library is the knowledge and creativity commons of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and part of a library system with over three million titles in print and digital formats. KSL is home to the University Archives and Special Collections and manuscripts consisting of over 17,000 linear feet, the Kulas Music Collection, and the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship which advances research by partnering with scholars and students to explore and develop new forms of scholarship. KSL is a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), OhioLINK, the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), HathiTrust, and the Center for Research Libraries. QUALIFICATIONS.

Experience: 4 years of relevant experience required (academic library experience preferred).

Education: High school education with related 4 years’ experience required or an Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience.

SALARY. This position is a LA4 with a minimum of $36,566. The salary will be offered to commensurate with qualifications and experience.
