Graduate student (MS Accounting)
This July, I had the chance to be part of the OISRE Pilot Summer Boot Camp hosted by the Office of International Student Resources and Engagement (OISRE) at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. It turned out to be one of the most impactful experiences of my journey so far as an international student.
Throughout the week, I gained valuable insights on LinkedIn optimization, CPT/OPT work authorization, stress management, scam prevention, and financial planning. But beyond the sessions, what made this boot camp truly special was the sense of community it created. Meeting fellow international students who share similar challenges and connecting with staff, alumni, and offices across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø who genuinely care about our success made me feel seen, supported, and inspired.
A big thank you to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Career Center, University Health & Counseling Services (UH & CS), VISA & Immigration Services & Advisors (VISA), School of Graduate Studies for sharing their time and resources. Grateful as well to the Writing Program for the fun raffle prize (yes, I was one of the lucky winners 🎉).
A big thank you to the amazing presenters and offices: , , , ,
This experience helped me [understand] that success isn’t just about academics or career, it’s also about building connections, prioritizing well-being, and knowing that we have a supportive community around us.
Looking forward to carrying these lessons with me and seeing this initiative grow even bigger
