CCEL Van Overview

Groups of students around two CCEL vans

The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning has three minivans, which are used for group community service projects. Priority is given to CCEL programs, service learning courses, and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø student organizations working on civic engagement related activities. The vans may also be rented for other activities by ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø departments and recognized student organizations.

  • Vans may be driven only by eligible members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø community, all of whom must have completed the CCEL Van Driver Certification Process.
  • Each van can transport 1 driver and 6 passengers (7 people total). Vans are for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø groups, not for use by a single individual.
  • Vans are not permitted to transport non-ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø participants (e.g., program clients or youth).
  • Vans may not be used for trips over 150 miles round-trip or outside of the US.
  • Groups may request use of the vans through the at least three business days in advance of the requested date.
  • Organizations or departments will be billed based on van usage rates.

If you have questions about van usage or regulations, please contact the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning at commservice@case.edu.

Other Transportation Options

If a CCEL van doesn't work for your group, members of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø community can utilize options available through ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Travel Services, including Enterprise Carshare at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
