About Us

The Provost Scholars Program is a partnership between ϳԹ (ϳԹ) and . The program was founded by former Provost William “Bud” Baeslack and former East Cleveland City School District Superintendent Dr. Myrna Loy Patton Corley, to improve the academic outcomes of East Cleveland (Ohio) middle and high school students.

Scholars from H.W. Kirk Middle School, Ginn Academy, Cleveland School of the Arts, and Shaw High School are selected to expand their creative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and to participate in a variety of academic-related activities at ϳԹ. Apart from activities, Scholars form mentoring relationships with volunteer ϳԹ faculty and participate in intensive seminars every Thursday. ϳԹ faculty and staff mentors assist Scholars with academic and career goal setting, forming healthy social and personal skills and other opportunities to achieve their life-long goals.
