: ϳԹ Police Sgt. Sarah Shendy said that as an Egyptian-American woman, she hopes to be a part of the change in policing in the United States by inspiring more women and diverse candidates to join law enforcement. “When I became a police officer, nobody looked like me. Every police department should really aim to mirror its community. I want people to feel safe, respected and seen,” she said.
