The School of Law welcomes four outstanding new faculty members

The School of Law is excited to welcome four new faculty members beginning in the 2025-26 school year. These hires reflect our continued investment in academic excellence across our top-ranked Health Law program, our Bloomberg award-winning legal writing program and our innovative new online JD program.

Yaron Covo

Yaron Covo will be joining 窪蹋勛圖厙 as an Assistant Professor on the tenure track. Dr. Covo earned an LLB from Tel Aviv University Law School. and LLM and JSD degrees from Columbia Law School. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School and a Fellow at Harvard Law Schools Project on Disability. Covo has focused his research on disability rights, and his scholarship has appeared in prestige publications such as the Columbia Law Review and the Stanford Law Review. His most recent article is entitled The Contractualization of Disability Rights Law and is forthcoming in the University of Chicago Law Review.

Stacey Bergstrom

Stacey Bergstrom will join us as an Assistant Professor of Lawyering Skills in the Legal Writing, Leadership, Experiential Education, Advocacy and Professionalism ("LLEAP") program. She earned her JD from The George Washington University Law School. Bergstrom currently teaches Legal Writing, Criminal Justice Drafting and Introduction to the Study of Law at the University of Alabama School of Law, where she also coaches the Bruce Siegal Intellectual Property Moot Court Team. Before entering academia, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney in both the Southern District of Florida and the Eastern District of Virginia. Previously, Bergstrom worked as Investigative Counsel for the New York Offices of the State Inspector General and was an Assistant Attorney General in Virginia, where she specialized in computer crime and child exploitation offenses.

Jim Madigan

Jim Madigan will join us as a Visiting Assistant Professor, teaching Legislation and Regulation to in-person JD students and Property to online JD students. He earned his JD, cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School. After graduation, he served as a Harry A. Bigelow Teaching Fellow and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago. Most recently, Madigan clerked for the Honorable Bridget Meehan Brennan of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and supported underrepresented students in the Writing Center at Stark State College. His prior experience includes practicing complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation as a partner at Greenberg Traurig, serving as a staff attorney at Lambda Legal, and running his own litigation practice.

Jenna Hosier

Jenna Hosier will join us as a Visiting Assistant Professor in our LLEAP program. She earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Dayton School of Law, where she served on the Law Review Editorial Board. Hosier has taught academic support and skills courses at Cleveland State and the University of Dayton, with a focus on legal analysis, writing and bar exam preparation. Hosier currently serves as the Director of Bar Preparation at Cleveland State University College of Law, where she has designed bar success programs and guided students through the bar exam application and preparation process. She previously served as a staff attorney for the Twelfth District Court of Appeals.
