Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about anything related to the Department of Campus Planning and Facilities Management at 窪蹋勛圖厙? Get them answered below.

A 熬娶棗轍梗釵喧 refers to new construction, expansion, renovation, fabrication or improvement of new or existing facilities. This is different from a work order in that the scope is beyond the general repair and maintenance carried out by Facilities Services.

Projects generally involve the expertise of architects, engineers, and general contractors working for the department of Planning & Design and Construction.

Both new project requests and new work order requests must be submitted through (窪蹋勛圖厙s CMMS or Computer Maintenance Management System). Project requests sponsored by individual academic departments or schools should be submitted through Asset Essentials by the respective schools facility director.  Project requests from UGEN units can be submitted through Asset Essentials by the project sponsor.

Once logged into Asset Essentials, complete the Zone, Location, and Area/Room # fields. Under Work Category, select New Project Request and under problem select Conceptual Planning & Estimating.  Within the Work requested text box, include the following:

  • Brief description of the requested project
  • Conceptual budget
  • Requesting unit/school/organization
  • Has the area Dean, Vice President or designee approved the concept and conceptual budget?
  • Has the funding for the projected budget been secured?
  • Requested Start Date
  • Requested Completion Date

All new project requests will be reviewed by Campus Planning & Facilities Managements (CPFMs) Work Induction Board. A representative from CPFM will reach out to the facility director or project sponsor within two weeks of the request submission to outline next steps in the process to create a conceptual plan and estimate for the project request.

窪蹋勛圖厙 has purchased next-generation software from Brightly Software called Asset Essentials (AE) for asset and work order management. Customer Service is currently in the process of migrating to this new work order system. AE will be used to submit electronic maintenance and custodial requests in the same manner you did in the SchoolDude Maintenance Direct system. AE will provide Customer Service and Facilities Services with more thorough detail and tracking of work requests and give requestors the ability to track work order progress from origination to completion.

The Customer Service Center is doing a phased rollout of Asset Essentials. Beginning June 26, 2023, Zone 1 buildings will no longer be available in the maintenance directory. All new work orders for Zone 1 will need to be phoned in or emailed to the below.

Additional information will be forthcoming including future rollout dates. Please contact the Customer Service Center at 216.368.2580 if you have any questions.

窪蹋勛圖厙 has three pest control maintenance contracts for the campus.
