Alireza Nourani-Dargiri's research focuses primarily on the intersection of race and law to provide insight into disparate consequences in legal systems. His scholarship ranges from topics of criminal law, civil/human rights, and how policies apply to minoritized groups. Alireza is frequently asked to present at academic conferences to discuss his work and on other civil rights matters. For instance, Alireza has provided insight on cash bail, the war in Ukraine, protesting, law school curriculum, Palestine, and affirmative action.  

In addition to teaching the SJUS 100: Introduction to Social Justice course for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø undergraduate students, Alireza is also an instructor for an Appellate Practice course at the School of Law. In previous years, Alireza has also taught legal writing as well as a section of the law school's Race, Law & Society course.

Prior to joining SJI, Alireza clerked for Justice Melissa Hart at the Colorado Supreme Court. Alireza earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and his J.D. from the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law. Alireza is also an avid biker and has merged his personal and professional interests as a board member of Bike Cleveland.
