New Requirement: Research Security and Disclosure Training for Grants

By Oct. 1, 2025, all Senior and Key Personnel* on new federal grant applications, competitive renewals, or research performance progress reports (RPPRs) must complete research security training. This training also fulfills the . The training must be completed annually.

By Dec. 31, 2025, all Senior and Key Personnel* on all externally funded projects—regardless of funding source—must complete the training.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø offers a 1-hour course through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program, titled Research Security Training (Combined). Completion is tracked and managed by the Research Security Programs office. To start the training and view instructions, visit the Research Security Programs webpage.  

Principal investigators (PIs) must ensure that all Senior and Key Personnel* on their grants complete the training. The SpartaGrants attestation will be updated to include confirmation of training completion.
