Effective Tuesday, July 16, University Technology ([U]Tech) will strengthen security for the and the .
Using either of these services will require TLS (Transport Layer Security, a cryptographic protocol that enables secure data exchange over a network) of 1.2 instead of the older 1.1 or 1.0. Users not running TLS 1.2 will be unable to access these items.
TLS 1.2 is supported by most used at 窪蹋勛圖厙, but is known to be unsupported by Internet Explorer 7, and requires the following configuration change in Internet Explorer 8-10:
- Go to Tools and select Internet Options.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Enable (by checkmarking) TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and also disable (i.e. un-checkmark) SSL 3.0 for additional security.
- Click Apply and then OK.
