Cleveland’s newest cultural neighborhood will launch The Beat UPTOWN, a free Thursday night summer concert series. The concert series will run each Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m., July 10 through Aug. 28, with live music selected by the Beachland Ballroom, food trucks and shopping.
The Beat UPTOWN entertainment schedule is as follows:
- July 10 – Zoe Muth and the Lost High Rollers—One of the strongest new female voices in Americana from Austin, Texas.
- July 17 – Bobby Selvaggio Quintet—Smoldering jazz, led by a young local saxophonist who is stretching the art form.
- July 24 – Thaddeus Anna Greene—A blues rock force fronted by Collinwood grad, TJ Maclin, dubbed Cleveland’s young Jimi Hendrix.
- July 31 – Meridian—Strong folk rock, penned by Heights native Max Stern, his brother, Jake, and friends.
- Aug. 7 – Maura Rogers and the Bellows—Intense soul-baring songs and delivery, softened with her accordion.
- Aug. 14 – Mayfield Strings Trio & Uno Lady—Cellist Tara Hanish brings a hybrid classical trio and Uno Lady joins with her unique solo rock/opera style.
- Aug. 21 – Fiscal Spliff—A 10-piece Afrobeat band featuring some of Cleveland’s finest players.
- Aug. 28 – Peelander-Z—A Japanese-American punk rock band and artist from NYC.
- MOCA Cleveland: $5 general admission after 5 p.m.
- ABC the Tavern: An evening happy hour.
- Cleveland Yoga: Happy hour yoga from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. for $5.
- Wrapz Pita Bar: $5 wraps all day.
