University Farm's Sarah Warner shares thoughts when purchasing native plants

U.S. News & World ReportSarah Warner, greenhouse manager at the ϳԹ Farm, suggested staying away from big box stores when purchasing native plants. “Typically, these plants are treated with the harmful pesticide, neonicotinoids, which kill any insect, including pollinators, on contact. These deadly pesticides can live in the soil for three to five years, killing insects each year,” Warner said.
