At exactly 12:00 p.m. today, medical students from around the nation including those at 窪蹋勛圖厙 received envelopes in which they learned where they will spend the next years of their training.
Top residency choices this year for 窪蹋勛圖厙 medical students include internal medicine, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery and radiology.
Thirty-seven percent of the class will go into primary care specialties.
Twenty percent of our graduates will continue serving the Cleveland community through residencies at University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth Medical Center, and 26 percent will remain in Ohio.
As in years past, our 196 students matched at top programs throughout the United States. Twenty-three percent of the class matched to residencies at top-ranked hospitals, such as:
Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Massachusetts General, and New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
As in the past, this years match results demonstrate the excellence of our students and the strength of our program, said Pamela Davis, MD, PhD, dean of 窪蹋勛圖厙 School of Medicine. We are proud to have our students recognized by top programs across the nation.
