Cassi Pittman Claytor, associate professor in the , was recently awarded the A. Wade Smith Award for Teaching, Mentoring, and Service from the Association of Black Sociologists.
Pittman Claytor was selected as a result of her work helping African American individuals launch their careers, which is often challenging due to a dearth of mentors to assist them in navigating the institution.
