Alanna Cooper, director of Jewish Lifelong Learning at the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program, wrote about an international program that keeps track of Torahs from pre-World War II Czech congregations, nearly all of which perished during the war. The Torahs were distributed throughout the 20th century to living congregations in many countries; 73 of these scrolls were reunited in Manhattan this month.
