Recent graduate and tennis player CJ Krimbill was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for his stellar academic and athletic accomplishments.
Krimbill is one of three Spartans to receive the honor during the last academic year; the others were (football) and (indoor track and field). This marks the only time ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has had three athletes receive the scholarship in a single year.
Krimbill was the first-ever ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø men’s tennis player to win the award. He is the 24th overall recipient of the award in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø athletics history.
Last season, Krimbill and Louis Stuerke reached the semifinals of the of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships, ending the year ranked third in Division III. In the singles draw, he made it to the round of 16 and ended the season ranked 11th in the Oracle/ITA National Poll.
Krimbill left his name in the record books at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, setting school single season records for singles and doubles wins during the year, going 30-6 individually and 33-6 in doubles play.
Krimbill, an engineering major, graduated with a 3.94 cumulative grade point average. He received many athletic honors throughout his time at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for his academics.
The Postgraduate Scholarship is given to 174 athletes annually—87 for men and 87 for women.
