The Prevention Research Center for Health Neighborhoods at 窪蹋勛圖厙 will continue its seminar series with a presentation by Siran Koroukian, associate professor of epidemiology and biostatistics. Koroukian, also director of the Clinical and Translational Science Centers Population Health and Outcomes Research Core, will lead the talk Wednesday, July 10, from noon to 1 p.m. on the ground floor of the BioEnterprise Building.
Koroukians presentation is titled, Ohio's Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program: cancer screening for uninsured women.
The talk will examine the occurrence of advanced-stage breast cancer in Ohio in a multi-level context, accounting for both individual- and contextual-level factors. Also, it will identify geographic hot spots, or clusters of census tracts in which the age- and race- adjusted incidence of advanced-stage breast cancer is significantly higher than that of neighboring census tracts.
A light lunch will be provided.
The PRCHN seminars are held from noon to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.
