The fall 2018 Power of Diversity Lecture Series, sponsored by the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity, will feature three talks from ϳԹ professors and a headline event with diversity leadership and organizational change expert Damon A. Williams.
The first event of the series, "Ethics Across Cultures: Diverse Voices, Shared Values," will be led by Shannon French, director of the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence and the Inamori Professor in Ethics. The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center, Senior Classroom.
The other three events, all held in Tinkham Veale University Center, will be:
- "Human Biological Variation: Where it Comes from and Why,” given by Cynthia Beall, Distinguished University Professor and the S. Idelle Pyle Professor of Anthropology, Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m.;
- "’Why Does this Class Spend So Much Time on Race?' My Answer,” given by Jonathan Sadowsky, the Theodore J. Castele Professor of Medical History, Monday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m.; and
- Headline lecture—"From Awareness, to Action, to Innovation: Empowering Leaders through Inclusive Excellence,” given by Damon A. Williams, diversity leadership and organizational change expert, Monday, Oct. 29, at 4:30 p.m.
