Susan McClary, professor and head of musicology, will receive an honorary Doctor of Music honoris causa from McGill University May 31.
McClary was selected for her reputation as one of the world’s leading feminist musicologists. She is known for publishing Feminine Endings: Music, Gender, and Sexuality.
Most of her work focuses on cultural criticism of music, and she often makes connections between music and social and cultural ideas.
