Medicine’s Laura Mintz discusses gender-affirming hormonal therapy and cardiometabolic health on podcast episode

Laura Mintz, assistant professor of medicine at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Medicine, discussed gender-affirming hormonal therapy and cardiometabolic health on Radio’s podcast, “.â€

In the podcast, Mintz reviewed the impact social determinants of health have on transgender populations and gave practical strategies to help providers care for their gender-diverse patients. Mintz was joined by Roger Hardy of the Ohio State University, along with a transgender patient who discussed how gender-affirming therapy affected his diabetes self-management.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is the lead institution for the Ohio Cardiovascular and Diabetes Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH). Cardi-OH is a statewide initiative of health care professionals at Ohio’s seven medical schools who share knowledge to improve Medicaid patient outcomes and eliminate health disparities across Ohio.
