The campus community is invited to attend a Faculty Work-in-Progress presentation given by Allison Schifani, the Baker-Nord Center Postdoctoral Scholar in the Digital Humanities.
Schifani's work explores ways of creating and participating in contemporary urban space, with a particular focus on the new media technologies and tactics that urban dwellers use to shape city space.
Schifani will present her work, titled “Biotechnical Ecologies: Lively Participation in the Contemporary City,” on Tuesday, April 15, at 4:30 p.m. in Clark Hall, room 206. In this talk, she will focus on contemporary, urban "do-it-yourself" art and intervention practices, looking at the intersection of technology, ecology and biopolitics.
