Spend a week in service, make new friends and learn about a new issue and community during spring break this March with the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning’s (CCEL) Alternative Breaks program. Break offerings will focus on the issues of:
  • mass incarceration (southeast Michigan),
  • refugee resettlement (Columbus) or
  • environmental restoration (Cumberland Island National Seashore, Georgia).
Visit CCEL’s for complete details. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate in this program. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1; spots are filled on a rolling basis. Driver discounts and scholarships are available. Students wishing to take on an added leadership role for one of the breaks can by Nov. 26 and will receive a $150 trip discounted if selected.
