Cleveland Scene: Miranda Leppla, director of the Environmental Law Clinic at the School of Law, weighed in on the federal government’s deferred prosecution agreement with FirstEnergy, referring to the corruption scandal involving Ohio lawmakers. The situation “demands more investigation and oversight by the PUCO moving forward,” Leppla said. “Ohioans should not be subject to paying bills from state-approved monopolies who aren’t willing to abide by the rules and regulations that have allowed them to operate in the state.”
