WEWS: Michael Benza, senior instructor in law, said that if former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder is convicted for his alleged role in the largest corruption scandal in the state’s history, he could also face charges of perjury after he testified in his own defense at his trial. “If he doesn't testify, the jury is left with the very logical roadmap that the government has set out showing the money and showing its impact—equaling this was corruption,” Benza said. “Unless somebody is able to say, 'yes, this money came in, this is how politics works. I didn't take it for corruption. I took it for political purposes.’”
