Chisholm Distinguished Research Scholar and professor of law, noted that as Vice President Kamala Harris picked up more support from fellow Democrats to become the party's nominee for president, the Democratic party will be closely watched and potentially challenged in court. “This is relatively uncharted territory,” Ellis said. “It's a classic problem of the letter of the law versus the spirit of the law.”
