Sangeeta Kashyap, MD, Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Cleveland Clinic, and CTSC KL2 scholar alum, was part of a large, multi-institution study to determine whether vitamin D supplementation lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes. Their results have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The study found that vitamin D supplementation at 4000 IU per day did not lower risk of diabetes in patients at high risk.
