To celebrate ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the university will host the second annual Innovation Week Sept. 26–29.
This year’s Innovation Week will kick off with a keynote presentation by MIT Professor Vladimir Bulović on Tuesday, Sept. 26, that addresses the week's theme, “Innovation as Problem Solving.â€
All interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend Innovation Week. Free lunch will be provided at all lunchtime events!
During Innovation Week, attendees will have opportunities to:
- Learn more about innovative approaches to addressing today’s critical challenges;
- Understand how innovation occurs in our Northeast Ohio ecosystem among players with varying interests;
- Hear from industry representatives about what good corporate engagement looks like and how we can enhance and improve the current corporate engagement model;
- Celebrate ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s leading innovators and this year’s recipient of the Faculty Distinguished Research Award;
- Network with colleagues, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø alumni, community investors and members of the National Academy of Inventors;
- Tour Interactive Commons; and
- Participate in workshops hosted by xLab, Sears think[box] and more.
Events will include four daily lunch sessions at the Tinkham Veale University Center from noon to 2 p.m. (each event includes networking time), daily workshops, and Innovation Awards to honor our top faculty innovators.
Finally, all students and postdocs are encouraged to enter the Pitch-Your-Poster Contest on Friday, Sept. 29, for a chance to win one of up to 10 $1,000 awards!
