Every spring, the Northeast Ohio Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC) sponsors ideaLabs, a business concept competition for undergraduate students from all disciplines to think about and pitch new venture ideas.
Thousands of dollars in prizes are awarded at on-campus events and at the regional ideaLabs competition, which includes students from the 11 EEC schools.
For the on-campus ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ideaLabs competition, teams can submit business concept outlines. A panel of judges will review the submissions and award first-, second- and third-place prizes.
The first-place team will receive $500, and second- and third-place teams will earn $300 and $200, respectively.
Student teams and individuals from the Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Institute of Music also qualify to participate in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ideaLabs.
For ideaLabs 2017, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Career Center and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø LaunchNet are offering a special ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ideaLabs Social Entrepreneurship Challenge. Individuals and teams are invited to present ideas for charitable causes and not-for-profit ventures focused on the environment, health care, education, energy or other social-good concepts.
The Social Entrepreneurship Challenge winner will receive $500 and qualify to be considered to represent ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø at the ideaLabs regional final.
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ideaLabs representative team claims a $1,000 qualifying prize and a chance to compete for part of the $10,000 regional prize pool.
