Each November, ���ϳԹ��� and institutions around the country celebrate  in recognition of international education and global exchange. This year, events were held on campus Nov. 12-16 for International Education Week. Throughout November, we will highlight statistics related to internationalization at ���ϳԹ��� to mark the celebration. ���ϳԹ��� has global representation, with 7,372 alumni living outside the United States. That accounts for 6.4 percent of the university's alumni. To serve its global alumni, ���ϳԹ��� has international chapters in the following countries:

• China (Beijing and Shanghai)
• Japan
• Malaysia
• South Korea
• Taiwan
• Thailand
• England

While these chapters provide a community for many alumni, several other countries are popular destinations for the university's alumni. The 10 countries with the most ���ϳԹ��� alumni, excluding the U.S., are:

• China (2,051)
• Canada (613)
• India (554)
• Taiwan (432)
• Thailand (422)
• South Korea (355)
• Japan (315)
• Malaysia (294)
• Indonesia (176)
• Saudi Arabia (156)

In addition to these countries, significant populations of ���ϳԹ��� alumni live in England, Israel, Turkey, Mexico, Germany, Brazil and Australia, among others. Many of these alumni are involved in events each year, which encourage either alumni connection, student support or university collaboration. Some recent events include:

• A presidential reception in Shanghai;
• Summer send-offs for students in Beijing and Shanghai;
• A reception at a ���ϳԹ��� conference in São Paulo, Brazil; and
• Admitted student receptions in Shanghai and Beijing, China; Taipei, Taiwan; and Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam.

One of the most active alumni groups, the Japan Alumni Chapter, will hold its 21^st annual meeting Saturday, Dec. 1, in Tokyo. To start an international alumni chapter or get involved in your country’s, visit the Alumni Association website.
