Spectrum News: Emily Manning, a graduating medical student, reflected on her path to medical school after finding out where she will go for her residency during the university’s annual Match Day event. “Growing up, you know, I was the sole caretaker of my mom after she was disabled from a stroke,” she said. “It really did shape the lens in which I viewed life and even medicine, and it really inspired me to give back and kind of be that role model for others and just be a part of somebody’s life.”
