Meet , a dedicated medical student at ϳԹ with a passion for venture capital, public policy, and building community. Since joining the ϳԹ Alumni Venture Fund in 2021, Zain has been an integral part of its growth, helping shape a supportive, student-driven venture ecosystem at ϳԹ and beyond. Outside of AVF, he’s also been involved with advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill for the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Why did you join the ϳԹ AVF Fellowship?
“I joined the ϳԹ AVF Fellowship to help build a supportive and student-driven venture community for ϳԹ and Cleveland. This fund provided a unique opportunity to learn about due diligence, speak with various founders, and participate in venture funding rounds from beginning to end. As a medical student interested in venture capital, this opportunity was one-of-a-kind and will prepare me for the next steps I take in my career.”
What excites you most about ϳԹ AVF?
“Supporting the venture and startup ecosystem surrounding ϳԹ. Since my involvement with the AVF began in 2021, I feel the momentum surrounding the startup scene in Cleveland and our university community has greatly increased. I'm looking forward to seeing how our fund will continue to invest in cutting-edge startups!”

Zain learned how to drive when he was 10 years old on his grandparents’ farm in Wyoming!
