Compose a haiku for Kelvin Smith Library’s contest for a chance to win prizes

Members of the ϳԹ community are invited to compose a haiku (three unrhymed lines of five, seven and five syllables) for Kelvin Smith Library’s 2019 National Library Week Haiku Contest.

The first-place winner will receive gift cards to both Barnes & Noble and Target totaling $100, and second- and third-place winners will be awarded ϳԹ-branded apparel.

The theme for this year’s haiku contest is “Libraries = Strong Communities.” The contest is open to students and faculty and staff members.

The deadline to send in an entry is Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m.

A committee of Kelvin Smith librarian poetry enthusiasts will determine the winners, who will be announced Monday, April 15.
