As COVID-19 hit Northeast Ohio, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students, faculty and staff responded immediately—moving off campus, transforming courses for remote learning, and determining how their research could help fight the coronavirus.
Among many other efforts, members of our community have helped produce face shields for frontline workers, developed apps to track the disease’s spread, created pandemic-related courses, organized volunteer efforts to assist health care employees and individuals facing food insecurity, and devoted hundreds of hours to mask-making—all while continuing their learning, teaching and working from wherever they are in the world.
Today (Tuesday, June 16), the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø community is joining together for the eighth annual . Funds raised today will assist in the university’s critical research and support students as they continue their education at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
Across the university, schools and departments are seeking support for various efforts that will help members of their community in the months ahead, such as:
- providing financial assistance for students with emergency needs;
- driving COVID-19 research in labs;
- helping expand educational access to students through scholarships and other opportunities;
- improving how faculty can deliver their courses as instruction models shift; and
- offering other ways deans and other leaders might support COVID-related efforts.
