As daffodils bloom across the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø campus and birdsong fills the air, one need not look far for signs of spring. The season welcomes countless reasons to enjoy the outdoors, and for many, gardening ranks high on the list.  

Whether you have a green thumb already or are hoping for some horticultural talent to take root, Cleveland’s many public gardens offer the perfect opportunity to be inspired or simply clear your head. Today, National Gardening Day (April 14), The Daily is celebrating the beauty of flowers and other greenery with some suggestions of gardens our community can visit.

Consider exploring one of these five gardens near campus and throughout Cleveland.

Fine Arts Garden

Just a short walk from campus, you can take in picturesque views of Wade Lagoon at the . You can also explore the Zodiac Garden, where you’ll find twelve stone statues representing each astrological sign, a single-tier water fountain and sandstone walking paths to the . 

Cleveland Cultural Gardens

Travel around the globe without leaving the city when you visit the located in Rockefeller Park. Take a leisurely stroll as you view unique sculptures, plant species and other one-of-a-kind features of the representing various countries from the United States and China to Hungary and Italy.
