Erik M. Jensen

Coleman P. Burke Professor Emeritus of Law

Erik Jensen’s areas are taxation, business planning and American Indian law. He is the author of The Taxing Power, which was published in 2005. Jensen clerked for Judge Monroe G. McKay on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in 1979–80 and practiced tax law in New York with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP before joining ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Law in 1983. He was a visiting professor at the Cornell Law School in 1999, coordinating editor of the Journal of Legal Education from 1992 until 1998 and editor of the Journal of Taxation of Investments from 2009 until 2024. Three of his published works, including The Taxing Power, have been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court.
