EVENT INFORMATION:
As the date for the November elections approaches, we will听be subjected to an increasing barrage of state and national polls about all the听contests at听stake.听听Each polling outfit听has its own methodology and this can result in results being released on the听same day that seem to provide quite different听snapshots of public opinion even听though they are purportedly measuring the same thing. While the top line of the polls tell how many people support each听candidate, often more interesting are the internals of the polls that听disaggregate the听results and provide some insight into the extent that various听demographic groups support each candidate.
听
The presenters, who are experts in public opinion analysis听and specialize in the empirical study of religion and politics, will discuss听the survey research听method and what public opinion analyses tell us about which听groups will support Trump or Clinton in November and why.听听Find out what science can听tell us about听groups that are skeptical of science for religious reasons and more.
