OCTOBER 10, 2016
FEATURING:

Professor of Political Science at Kent State University and author of the Cambridge University Press book, Godless Democrats and Pious Republicans
AND
John C. Green, PhD

EVENT INFORMATION:
As the date for the November elections approaches, we willÌýbe subjected to an increasing barrage of state and national polls about all theÌýcontests atÌýstake.ÌýÌýEach polling outfitÌýhas its own methodology and this can result in results being released on theÌýsame day that seem to provide quite differentÌýsnapshots of public opinion evenÌýthough they are purportedly measuring the same thing. While the top line of the polls tell how many people support eachÌýcandidate, often more interesting are the internals of the polls thatÌýdisaggregate theÌýresults and provide some insight into the extent that variousÌýdemographic groups support each candidate.
Ìý
The presenters, who are experts in public opinion analysisÌýand specialize in the empirical study of religion and politics, will discussÌýthe survey researchÌýmethod and what public opinion analyses tell us about whichÌýgroups will support Trump or Clinton in November and why.ÌýÌýFind out what science canÌýtell us aboutÌýgroups that are skeptical of science for religious reasons and more.
