EVENT INFORMATION:
Human and robotic exploration of the solar system requires large masses to be lofted into space by powerful rocket systems. Many hundreds of concepts have been created for launching from Earth, heading out of Earth orbit, entering another planet's gravity field, and landing there. Also, the ideas of flight to the stars has been a fantastic hope for humanity, one that requires even more enormous energies.
Where did these ideas about space travel originate? And what might the future hold for space flight and rocket propulsion, both near and far term? Come to June's Science Caf茅 Cleveland and learn a little rocket science!
